Let us not forget that all is one!
The bright prints and paintings of Kenojuak Ashevak reminds us that everything is connected with everything: heaven and earth, love and hate, mankind with animals, plants and flowers.Raised in a highly oppressed situation as a member of the Inuit community in Canada, Ashevak made her way through all instances and is nowadays one of the most acclaimed Canadian artists. I discovered her work through a small but impressive exhibition at the Canadian embassy in Paris some time ago and since then her work gives me peace and confidence whenever I look at it.
As sharing is caring, herewith I would like to show you my favorite piece of her work, titled Siilavut, Nunavut (Our Environment, Our Land) from 1999.
